- Is there a garden at Rockwood? There is no garden at Rockwood. The house is on a very quiet lane, surrounded by countryside and only 2 minutes from wide open spaces.
- We are a party of 12 adults - can we stay on sofa beds? Due to fire regulations, the maximum number of adults at Rockwood is 10, plus two children under 16. I’m afraid we cannot make any exceptions.
- Car Parking - is there private car parking? The driveway at Rockwood is long and narrow, with the house on one side and a rock face on the other. The driveway will only take 3 medium sized cars in a line; there is no other parking nearby. The lane outside the house is too narrow, as a milk lorry passes by each day to the local farm, and the National Trust houses opposite will clamp you if you park there! The nearest public parking is in Grasmere and is expensive.
- Can we rent just one half of the house? The 2 bedroom annexe is accessed through the same door as the main house, so it is an integral part. We do not rent the two parts out separately.
- Can we arrive at the house early? This depends, but please get in touch just before you leave as we may be able to help, especially in low and mid season.
- How do we get access to the house? We operate a key-by-post system. Shortly before your departure we post a key with return instructions and stamps for you to post back to us.
- How far from Grasmere is Rockwood? Rockwood is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of the village. It is an easy walk for all ages.
- What is included in the price? Just about everything. We supply all linen except towels (although we can help for overseas guests); all heating and electricity is included in the prices, as is cleaning after your stay.
